It takes special skills, training, and aptitude to safely operate large vehicles. We teacher students how to obtain their commercial driver’s licenses (CDLs) to ensure that drivers meet the DMVs high standards for operating commercial motor vehicles. A CDL license is a specialized license required to operate commercial motor vehicles such as tractor-trailers, buses, and tow trucks.CDL drivers move goods and people across the country, supporting our economy.

Vehicle Maintenance

You will develop knowledge of vehicle maintenance and inspection, helping you detect issues before they become problems.


Truck Maneuvers:Parking/ Docking

Learning how to Maneuver Truck and Trailer to park in 6 different ways. 


Driving 

Here at Fifth Wheel Trucking School, you will be learning how to drive a manual 10 speed truck to haul any trailer necessary. Learning on a Manuel truck will allow you more work opportunities opposed to learning on an Automatic Truck that may be easier to learn but will result with an automiatic restriction  from the DMV. When you learn on a Manuel you can operate both Manual and/or automatic truck.

FMCSA/DMV CERTIFIED

Entry Level Driver Training (ELDT) CDL Applicants:

On February 7, 2022, the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) implemented federal Entry Level Driver Training (ELDT) requirements for commercial driver’s license (CDL) applicants. ELDT must be conducted by a registered training provider listed on the federal Training Provider Registry (TPR).

Successful completion of ELDT is required on or after February 7, 2022, for applicants who are:

  • Obtaining an original CDL (Class A or B);
  • Upgrading an existing Class B CDL to a Class A CDL; or
  • Obtaining a School Bus (S), Passenger (P), or Hazardous Materials (H) endorsement

  • Class A - Allows you to operate combination vehicles with a weight of over 26,001 pounds.
  • Class B - Allows you to operate a single vehicle with a weight of over 26,001 pounds or a combination of vehicles that weigh less than 26,001 pounds.
  • Class C - Allows you to transport hazardous materials, operate passenger vehicles, and drive vehicles with a weight under 26,001 pounds.

A Valid Class "C" License. We will help you with everything you need to obtain your Class "A" or "B" License. 


We guarantee all students help for a whole year, so that everyone can learn at their own pace. But, on average If your available to come 4-5 times a week, it takes about 6-8wks. For students who can only attend class on Saturdays, they usually take about 3 months.


We will help you get your D.O.T. Physical, study guide for all 3 Class "A" permit test, teach you all 6 Skill maunders, and how to drive. We will also handle all your DMV appointments and supply the truck for you to test in. 


We use 10 Speed Day-Cabs (Manual) with 28" Box style trailers.
